Job Summary
This account management-level publicist and creative thinker will be responsible for managing media and client communications and execution of deliverables for Skai Blue Media’s clientele (see our IG account for who we work with). This role is responsible for driving strategy and crafting comprehensive integrated communications plans for clients in a variety of industries and disciplines. The Account Executive is a flexible and versatile communications professional who has insight and experience with social media strategy, thought leadership and digital media.
Responsibilities
- Meet with and engage clients to discuss goals, objectives, and needs
- Lead account teams, ensuring deliverables are being met within the prescribed scope of work
- Work with senior management to identify client goals, target audiences and assist with the development of communication strategies
- Develop and lead kick-off campaigns for clients and projects
- Lead ideation efforts, working with various internal teams on marketing strategies and communication concepts
- Pitch stories and garner media placement on behalf of clients and Skai Blue media initiatives
- Write a variety of communications on behalf of clients (OpEd pieces, biographies, interview answers, etc.)
- Ensure timely execution of detailed client reports
- Develop, participate in, and present during new business presentations
- Play a key role in the representation of various clientele within, but not limited to, business, lifestyle, fashion, technology, and non-profit
- Play a key role with the development of strategy of social media activations to ensure cohesive execution of client deliverables
- Attend high-level business meetings, as needed
- Report to the Executive team essential business-related information that may positively or negatively impact the business or client activity
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality relating to sensitive business-related information i.e. Skai Blue Media staff, business strategy, intellectual property, best practices, etc.
Qualifications
- Must be able to effectively represent the agency and agency clients
- Flexibility and willingness to travel, domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must be able to multitask, learn and adapt to new situations, work under tight timelines to meet
client deliverables and other assignments - On occasion, work beyond normal business hours, including some weekdays, weekends and holidays to staff client events and to ensure deliverables are met
- Must be on time and prompt on all occasions
- Must be able to handle all situations with tact, professionalism, persuasiveness, and diplomacy.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to write both strategically and creatively under tight deadlines
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Knowledge of all forms of media (digital, broadcast, print, social, etc.)

- Excellent writing and verbal communication necessary
- Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva, project management and media-related platforms
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field, preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience in the areas of creative communications, agency experience related to public relations, communications, and media relations
- Experience in Crisis Communications preferred
- Progressive experience and responsibility in the areas of Strategic Communications and Public Relations

- Ability to adapt to changes in technology and workflow processes related to remote work.
- Capability to organize and manage work tasks efficiently in a remote setting.
- Ability to travel for business-related situations, including using all means of transportation e.g. ground, rail and air.
- Ability to remain onsite for a business-related function for multiple days, which includes the need for overnight stays.
