Almaz D. Crowe has worked with the Skai Blue Media team for five years, and possesses an apt for creative collaboration, marketing and communications. As a Communications Architect, Almaz works with Skai Blue Media’s clients to procure and arrange the best possible branding and event materials, and create strategic marketing plans.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Chicago State University, where she studied under the program’s founder, writer and publisher Haki Madhubuti. Almaz has over 15 years experience in non-profit communications, event planning, and marketing, and has worked with a diverse group of partners—from community leaders and elected officials to GRAMMY® award winning hip hop band, The Roots. Her experience in nonprofit communication has helped shape her work with Skai Blue Media clients, such as Urban Afairs Coalition, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Inc., model and businesswoman Julie Henderson and Comcast’s Employee Enrichment Series.
Almaz’s interests lay at the intersection of creative storytelling, self-empowerment, and interpersonal communication. When she isn’t writing, reading or talking to any and everyone that crosses her path, Almaz enjoys cooking, traveling internationally, painting, listening to stories about her mother’s homeland of Eritrea, and spending time with family.
